Part 7 of the Guide to Road Safety covers road safety strategy and management — how road safety is planned, governed, resourced and monitored at an organisational, jurisdictional and network level. It connects the technical elements of the earlier parts to the institutional arrangements needed to deliver sustained reductions in road trauma.

Topics include developing and aligning road safety strategies and network safety plans against high-level targets such as the National Road Safety Strategy, road safety management systems and governance, data and performance monitoring, and the business case for investment. It gives senior practitioners and decision-makers a framework for turning Safe System principles into a managed, measurable program of work.
